Website prices range from $0/month to $15,000+ โ with wildly different value at each level. Here's an honest breakdown of what you're actually paying for, so you can pick the right option for your budget.
The three real pricing tiers
DIY builders (Wix, Squarespace, Linktree): $0 to $40/month, forever. Fast to set up, but you're stuck with generic templates, third-party branding, and SEO tools that only go so far.
Independent developers / freelancers (like me): typically $200 to $3,000, often as a one-time payment. Custom-built, no ongoing subscription, but the scope and quality vary a lot from one freelancer to another.
Agencies: $3,000 to $15,000+, and sometimes a monthly retainer on top for "maintenance." You're paying for a bigger team, account management, and often a slower delivery timeline.
What actually moves the price
- Number of pages and complexity of the site structure
- Fully custom design vs. a pre-made template
- Extra functionality: e-commerce, booking forms, multilingual content
- Copywriting โ do you provide the text, or does someone write it for you?
- SEO setup: structured data, page speed, mobile optimization
The hidden cost most people miss: subscriptions
A $25/month builder looks cheap next to a $500 one-time website โ until you do the 5-year math: $25/month adds up to $1,500 over 5 years, and you still don't own anything. Stop paying, and your site disappears. A one-time payment site, by contrast, is yours to keep.
What I charge, and why
I only offer one-time payment websites โ no monthly fee, ever. Pricing depends on what you actually need:
- Bio-Site โ from $219 CAD / 149โฌ: a custom link-in-bio page on your own domain
- Showcase Website โ from $439 CAD / 299โฌ: a full multi-page site built to rank on Google
- Booking System โ from $589 CAD / 399โฌ: a Showcase Website plus a smart WhatsApp booking form, zero commission
See the full breakdown on the pricing section, or read the comparison between Bio-Site and Showcase Website if you're not sure which one fits.
How to pick the right tier for your budget
If most of your traffic comes from Instagram or TikTok, a Bio-Site is usually enough to start. If customers search for your business on Google, a Showcase Website is the better investment. If you're taking bookings or reservations and want to stop paying commission to third-party platforms, add the Booking System.
